ABOUT METALSMITHS Co.
Metalsmiths Co. Limited was founded in 1926 by architect Kenneth
Noxon. At the time, artisans handmade - to his designs - products
such as architectural hardware, lighting fixtures, fireplace
accessories and ornamental lawn furniture.
In 1954 Ken's son Court, also an architect, took over the
company. His interest lay more in contemporary furniture
and accessory design. While maintaining the family tradition
of fine metal work, the firm expanded and added expertise
in upholstery and cabinet-making.
Metalsmiths became established among professional designers
as a reliable source of well designed and manufactured furnishings
and custom work for prestige executive areas. Many of the
designs were recognized with awards in North America and
Europe.
It is the tradition of superlative design and craftsmanship
in wood, upholstery and metal that we continue today.
